Joe Budden – Exxxes (from Padded Room) Review

“..This is Joe Budden at his best because it shows his talent and intelligence. Now, I’ve talk to a few people and some think this song is about drugs but I personally think he’s personifying depression as a girl…”

“…I looove the beat, maybe the best one on the album. I don’t like some of the lyrics though, maybe I’m the only one who thinks that. The idea is cool…”

“Exxxes revives Budden’s biographical exploration of his relationships with women, which if his music’s to be believed, has been about as functional as Bobby and Whitney’s marriage.”

“…he talks about himself through a girl he meets. It seems that this “girl” represents his depression, and the fights that they have with each other are fights that he has with himself in his own mind. Very mellow beat driven by a guitar and bass line and his flow is very Pac-like.”

What boiGeniusbeats.com Thinks:

Joe Budden follows the trends of his mood muzik legacy with this melancholy dripped guitar track. This is a very thought-provoking song, hot beat, solid hook, the production on this could have really been taken to a whole other level if taken into the right hands. Buddens does his thing regardless, what he’s talking about is kind of open to interpretation but it definitely gives off a mysterious vibe that is often neglected in the world of hip hop.
